So, you’re planning a trip? You’re in the right place: welcome to my Travel Resources page! Here, I share some of my favorite trip-planning resources. I use all of these every time I plan a trip, and couldn’t live without them.

Whether you find some new ones or recognize some you already use, this page is meant to make planning a trip as smooth as possible.

Inspiration

  • Pinterest: the classic place for finding travel inspo – I could (and sometimes do) scroll for hours
  • TikTok: a shockingly great platform for travel inspo – I never plan a trip without it!
  • YouTube: an OG in the travel space 

Travel Insurance

Transportation

  • Google Flights: awesome resource for finding flights without searching each individual airline’s website
  • Skyscanner: a great alternative to Google Flights
  • Amtrak: alternative method for traveling through the US
  • Rome2Rio: looking for the best way to get somewhere? This website is perfect!
  • Omio: a good alternative to Rome2Rio

Tours & Activities

  • GetYourGuide: has tons of touristy and local-like activities and tours 
  • Viator: similar to GYG, but I prefer GYG since there’s more options – but still great!
  • CityPASS: perfect for saving money with bundled activities
  • Go City: great alternative for CityPASS

Accommodation

  • Hotels.com: looking at every hotels’ websites is tedious, and this alleviates that pain! I don’t book here, but it’s a great resource for finding and comparing properties.
  • Airbnb: I really appreciated Airbnb when I traveled before I was 21 beacuse lots of hotels. I typically recommend hotels for solo travelers, but Airbnb’s can often be a good alternative.
  • mycitizenM+: citizenM’s (my favorite hotel chain) yearly membership that gives you discounts on stays and other perks 

Travel Credit Cards

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred: my first ever travel credit card – great choice for beginners!
  • U.S. Bank Altitude Connect: the card I currently use – arguably better than the CSP in some aspects like travel reward multiplier. Also has no annual fee, which you can’t beat!
  • American Express Platinum: more advanced yet killer travel credit card for lounge access and accumulating points toward flights + accomodations.
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve: more premium than the CSP and USBAC, but not super beginner-friendly.
